Paris / Pont Alexandre III
Pont Alexandre III photoshoot
Gilded statues, bronze lamps and the Eiffel Tower over the river.
The bridge runs between the Invalides and the Grand Palais. It has four pylons topped with gilded figures and 32 bronze lamp posts along its length.
From the downstream pavement the Eiffel Tower stands behind the lamps. Sunrise gives you the bridge almost empty. At dusk the lamps are lit and the sky is still blue.
It works for portraits and for couples: there is room to walk, and every few metres the background changes.
Metro: Invalides, lines 8 and 13, RER C.
